It’s March! Der Frühling ist da! Spring is here!
This is one of a few sentences that I still remember from my German class in highschool. I don’t know why it still remains in my memory when I don’t remember many things from last year.
I know spring has not arrived yet. But just the word, March, tells me Spring is coming. Spring is around the corner.
Are you telling me, “Sung Ho, winter is not over yet in Rochester. Still long way to go. We will still have snow again and again. We will still have many cold days.” Of course, I know, I came from Grand Island, I mean, Buffalo. In my head I understand what you say. But in my heart, in my spirit, I feel the fresh air of spring. I smell the scent of spring that the spring winds bring. My heart and my spirit are elated with the new and fresh life of spring.
I know spring has not arrived yet. But spring has already begun in my heart. It is the power of hope. Spring is not a reality yet, but it is already a reality in me. It lives in me. The power of hope is so powerful that the brutally cold air of winter can’t freeze and kill the new life that is already growing in me.
Indeed, the Lenten journey, the journey of hope for New Life of Resurrection, begins in March on Ash Wednesday, March 6.
The Scripture says, “Let us hold unswervingly to the HOPE we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:23‐25 (NIV)
In the Korean Bible it says, “Be faithful with all your heart to gathering together and do your best.”
We are the people of hope, the hope in Christ. Let us be faithful with all our heart to gathering together on every Sunday to worship our God and encourage one another all the more so that we all may increase our hope in Christ, the Resurrection Hope.
